Dr. Markus E. Fischer

Dr. Markus E. Fischer holds the position of Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Executive Board at CargoBeamer AG. After studying business administration and earning his doctorate, he initially worked in the Corporates & Markets division of Dresdner Bank in Munich before moving to Essen in 2003, where he held various management positions at GFKL Financial Services AG, most recently as a general representative. In 2011, Fischer moved to the insurer FWU AG in Munich as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Board. Between 2012 and 2016, he also headed the Equity & Debt department as an Honorary Board Member of the Association of German Treasurers (Verband Deutscher Treasurer e.V.). He joined CargoBeamer as CFO in 2016 and was named the group’s CEO in 2026. At CargoBeamer, Fischer is in charge of finance, human resources, legal, communications, and investor relations.
